Subject: RE: Update for Radio Road East MSTU advisory committee
Pam /Darryl,
The Motorola equipment that was delivered to Darryl for Radio Road East MSTU is programmed to use a
different form of communication for the slave controllers in the field compared to what we use now, the
master controller talks fine, it uses the same type of communication. The Collier County contractor for
Motorola, Ag- Tronix programmed the slave controller to talk to the central once we installed the
"Patch" and erected the new dual antenna array as recommended by them.
As you know the IT department is very interested in the workings of the Motorola system and how the
radios work. The move to virtual server has been established and appears to be entirely doable, known
as Phase I. The final move to virtual is in flux and the antenna array is postponed known as Phase II
waiting until Phase I has been completed.
For some unknown reason your contractor (Ag- Tronix) has elected to leave you high and dry. A simple
change in programming would put you in business. I can tell you from experience that we have M's
talking to the old style CPU controllers, Radio Road at Airport Rd., at the Circle K, at Santa Barbra and on
Devonshire and we have M's on Airport Road and on US 41 North, a total of eight, why now Tropicana
and Radio Road East are incorrectly programmed. This is a hindrance to the promotion of the Motorola
Controllers in general, It's not the equipment.
