Meeting was called to order at 3:00 p.m.
Pledge of Allegiance recited and roll call taken.
The minutes of May 15, 2013 meeting were approved.
Threat Update
Lt. Mike Jones reported that there is no change in the threat level of Yellow.
USCGA Presentation
A power point presentation was made to the group by Commander Wait
Jaskiewicz that outlined the mission of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in our Area.
Emergency Manaeement Update.
Judy Scribner had nothing to report regarding the soon to be ending of the
Hurricane season. Director Dan Summers is looking Into purchasing an
Ambulance Bus for the county with a site to be determined at a future time. The
county is looking to place a fire station on Interstate 75 at mile marker 63. The
staffing will be determined at a later date.
Old Business
Lt. Mike Jones reports that most stores in the county will be opened early for
Black Friday shopping.
Jerry Sanford took part in the first "Collier County Honor Flight" on Saturday
November 9th, 2013 as 50 World War 11, Korea and Vietnam veterans traveled
with 50 guardians to Washington D.C. Their stops Included the World War II,
Korea, Vietnam and Iwo Jima memorials as well as the changing of the guard at
Arlington National Cemetery. He also reported on the status of the Freedom
Memorial.
Chris Nind from the Salvation Army reported that the Red Kettle collection drive
will be starting this holiday season and will fill in for the Marine Corp League's
Toys for Tots program this year.
Dr. Nelween reported that the flu season has been very mild so far this flu
season. There has been no absenteeism from the school system so far. He highly
recommends everyone getting a flu shot. He spoke about the National Stock
Piles of vaccines, how would we receive them and how would we distribute
them.
Wait Jaskiewicz attended the Medical Rescue Training that focused on your
sense of smell.
Lee Henderson Reported that the CAP has conducted target practice with the
Air Force and conducted several coastal patrols.
Lisa Carr from RSVP has nothing to report.
Rachel Wood from the Red Cross reported that they had shipped over 1,100
stockings for the troops abroad.
Russ Rainey reported that the Cert managers have scheduled a County wide
Disaster drill on February 22e° at Nursery Lane in North Naples. Fidlers Creek has
scheduled a cert class.
Next Meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, January 151h at 3 :00 p.m.
Meeting was adjourned at 4:00 p.m.
