BAYSHORE/GATEWAY TRIANGLE COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT LOCAL ADVISORY
BOARD MINUTES OF THE OCTOBER 1, 2013 MEETING
The meeting of the Bayshore/Gateway Triangle Community Redevelopment Advisory Board
was called to order by Steve Main 6:00 p.m. at the CRA Office Meeting Room 3570 Bayshore
Drive, Unit 102.
1. Roll Call: Present: Advisory Board Members: Larry Ingram, Steve Main, Maurice
Gutierrez, Mike Sherman, Shane Shadis, Michael Corradi and Chuck Gunther, Peter
Dvorak (excused), Karen Beatty (absent)
CRA Staff Present: Jean Jourdan, Interim Executive Director, Ashley Caserta, Project
Manager, and Ekna Guevara, Operations Coordinator.
2. Adoption of Agenda: Mr. Main asked if anyone had any changes. Hearing none, he
asked for a motion to approve the agenda. Motion by: Maurice Gutierrez. 2nd: Shane
Shadis. Approved 6-0.
3. Adoption of Minutes: Mr. Main asked for a motion to approve the September 10, 2013
meeting minutes. Motion by: Maurice Gutierrez. 2nd: Michael Corradi. Approved 6-0.
Mr. Sherman joined at this time.
4. CRA Project Reports:
a. CRA Project Updates.
1- CRA's 17+ Acre Property: Staff is working on an RFP to enlist the services
of a real estate professional to market the site based on its highest and best
use.
2- CRA Residential Lots: There are six (6) new houses on Linda Drive as
construction continues to move along.
3- Gateway Triangle Stormwater Improvements Construction Update:
Swales along three lots on the east side of the street are not draining
properly. There is also a blockage off Pineland which staff is working on. The
Engineers for the CRA's stormwater project are still evaluating the issue.
4- Andrew Drive (FP&L lights): The FP&L agreement was approved and
FP&L will be installing lights, to date the lights have not been installed.
5- Cirrus Point: Mr. Fields is working the PUD amendment through the zoning
process.
6- Community Garden: Staff has a meeting scheduled with the Botanical
Gardens and Pastor Paul from the church on south Bayshore on October

of the electric bill. This will avoid a $22,000 light improvement expense to the
CRA for the installation of a meter on the property. Ms. Jourdan asked Mr.
Corradi if he had any objections or comments to present to the Advisory Board
and he said he had none. Hearing none, a motion to approve the rental lease
and start negotiations with Greenway to rent the property made by: Chuck
Gunther. 2nd by: Maurice Gutierrez. Approved 6-0, Michael Corradi abstained
from voting.
6. Advisory Board General Communications. Maurice mentioned that the property known as
Fishermen's Village has determined that only 64 units will be built.
7. Citizen Comments. There was a citizen who voiced concern regarding the stormwater
project and its affect on Linwood. She shared pictures depicting standing water in the
newly installed ditches. She explained she was told by the county that there was
maintenance that was going to be taken care/of by the county to avoid this situation but the
county has yet to do maintenance. CRA staff said they would visit the area and refer to the
engineer.
